Stuck for an idea for the this year's song I posted on Facebook that I was in search of a collaborator. Enter Mr. Vern Morrison of Parma, Ohio, formerly of Brook Park, Ohio where I grew up.

Collaborations are not easy and rarely is a collaboration 50-50 like you see in the movies. I feel that. truly great collaboration is one where each party involved fills in the missing pieces no matter how small. Sometimes just saying - I like it! is enough to help a project. Vern contributed the main idea and a couple of verses which I couldn't seem to finish into a complete story/thought. I took Vern's essential idea and turned it into a story of redemption and how love and family can turn a man's heart from closed off cynicism to welcoming love.
